October 18, 2018. Our program featured Brett Dagnall, an amateur historian who specializes in the history of various American wars. Brett talked to us about the Revolutionary War. He brought some original paintings depicting scenes from that time. He also brought a replica of a musket and explained how the gun was loaded, fired, and used in combat.

Brett then told three stories from the time of the revolution. Two explained how a pair of reading glasses, and how a rifle that was not fired, changed the course of the entire war. He also told how Benjamin Franklin tricked the French government into officially recognizing the United States and providing open support in the last years of the war.
