Celebrating Service, Fellowship, and Exciting Opportunities in Easton Rotary
The Rotary Club of Easton continues to demonstrate the power of service above self through meaningful community projects, member achievements, and upcoming opportunities for involvement. From assembling Birthday Kits for local families to preparing for major fundraising events, our members remain dedicated to making a lasting impact throughout the greater Easton community.
Giving Every Child a Reason to Celebrate
On September 17, Easton Rotarians gathered at the ProJeCt of Easton Food Pantry for a special evening social focused on assembling Birthday Kits for local children. Thanks to donated supplies and the generosity of participating members, enough materials were collected to create 20 Birthday Kits that will be distributed through the food pantry and ProJeCt's Early Childhood Program. These kits help ensure that children and families facing financial hardship can still enjoy a special birthday celebration.
The project has been so well received that Easton Rotary has committed to making Birthday Kit Assembly a quarterly service initiative. Special thanks go to Kim Checkeye, Director of ProJeCt of Easton, and Jen Wanisko, Head of Development, for opening the facility and supporting this important effort. Appreciation is also extended to the Rotarians who helped document the evening and make the event a success.
Welcoming New Members and Hosting a Special District Visit
Easton Rotary is looking forward to welcoming District Governor Jeremiah Sensenig during his official club visit on September 24 at the Pomfret Club. This special luncheon will also feature a New Member Induction Ceremony as the club welcomes new individual members Eric D. Lee and Kristin M. Frampton, along with new corporate members The Chopper Foundation and Third Street Alliance. Their addition strengthens our club's ability to serve the community and expand Rotary's impact.
Boo Bingo Seeks Sponsors, Prizes, and Volunteers
Planning continues for Easton Rotary's exciting Boo Bingo fundraiser. Club members and community supporters are encouraged to help secure sponsorships, raffle basket items, and prizes. Proceeds from the event will support the club's Youth Services initiatives and other community projects. Those interested in assisting are encouraged to connect with the Boo Bingo planning committee and help make this new fundraising event a tremendous success.
Honoring a Rotary Legacy
Easton Rotary also continues preparations for the John D. "Jack" Bennett Memorial Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament, honoring the legacy of longtime Rotarian Jack Bennett. The annual tournament remains one of the club's signature fundraising events, with all proceeds supporting Rotary projects and community services throughout the region.
Recognizing Member Achievement
Congratulations to Lynn M. Schoof, Easton Rotary's Immediate Past President, on receiving a prestigious Lehigh Valley Business "Forty Under 40" Award. This recognition highlights her professional accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to community service. Easton Rotary is proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.
Rotary Fellowship Extends Beyond Easton
Rotary outreach and fellowship continue to extend beyond our local club. Past President Gordon Bigelow recently visited the Ambler Rotary Club to promote Easton Rotary's fundraising initiatives, including the Whiskey Tour and Boo Bingo events. Meanwhile, District Governor-Elect Jean McGill represented our district at the 2026 Rotary Zone Institute in Cancun, Mexico, joining Rotarians from 15 countries for training, networking, and leadership development.
