Easton Rotary Club Updates: Community Service, Fellowship, and Upcoming Events

August is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month for the Rotary Club of Easton! From social gatherings and guest speakers to community service projects and special events, there are plenty of opportunities for members to connect, serve, and make an impact.

Join Us for Our August Social

This Thursday, members and guests are invited to gather at the Easton Wine Project from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for an evening of fellowship and conversation. Look for tables reserved under Sue's name. Social events are a great way to connect with fellow Rotarians in a relaxed setting and welcome prospective members interested in learning more about our club.

Blue Zones Returns to Easton Rotary

At our August 13 luncheon meeting at the Pomfret Club, we are pleased to welcome back Todd Nemura from Blue Zones. Todd will provide updates on how Blue Zones initiatives have been integrated into our community since his visit last year and discuss the ongoing impact of the program on local health and well-being.

Service Opportunities and Club Reminders

Wear Your Name Badge

Presidents Mike and Lori encourage all members to wear their name badges at our social events and meetings. Name badges help prospective members get to know our club and make introductions easier for everyone.

Birthday Kits for ProJeCt of Easton

We are collecting supplies to assemble 20 Birthday Kits for families served by ProJeCt of Easton. Donations can be brought to any August meeting.

Members who would like to contribute but are unable to shop may send a donation via Venmo to Lori Metz (@Lori-Metz-6). Kit assembly is planned for September.

Volunteers Needed for Food Delivery

The club is seeking two volunteers for the monthly Wegmans to ProJeCt of Easton food delivery on Thursday morning.

• Time: 8:15 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m.

• Location: Wegmans (Route 248 loading dock)

• Requirement: An empty vehicle for transporting food

Members interested in helping should contact Lori Metz.

Easton Rotary Whiskey Still Available

Looking for a unique gift? The club continues to offer its Rotary-branded whiskey for $85 per bottle. With the holiday season approaching, now is a great time to stock up for gifts while supporting Rotary initiatives.

Upcoming Events

August 20 | STEM YEA Student Presentations

5:30 to 7:00 p.m. | Location TBD

Students who attended the STEM YEA leadership and science program will share their experiences and the knowledge they gained during the event. Members are asked to RSVP to Gayle Rogers whether or not they plan to attend.

August 25 | Board of Directors Meeting

All club members are welcome to attend Board meetings as observers.

August 27 | Rotary Field Trip to Historic Easton Cemetery

Noon Luncheon Historic Easton Cemetery 401 N. 7th Street, Easton, PA 18042

Club member Keith Lampman-Perlman will host this special off-site meeting. Lunch will be catered by Zekraft and is available for $20 (cash only).

September 10 | Guest Speaker: Amanda Starner

Noon | Pomfret Club

Amanda Starner, Program Coordinator for Generation Next, a program of Community Action Lehigh Valley, will discuss how the organization helps students prepare for postsecondary education and explore pathways to future success.

September 24 | District Governor Visit

Noon | Pomfret Club

We are honored to welcome District Governor Jeremiah Sensenig. This is an important annual visit, and members are strongly encouraged to attend.
