Easton Rotary Explores Local History While Looking Ahead to Service and Fellowship

The Rotary Club of Easton enjoyed a special off-site luncheon on August 27 at the Historic Easton Cemetery, where 29 members and guests gathered in the beautifully restored chapel for an informative presentation hosted by Rotarian Keith Lampman-Perlman. Members learned about the cemetery's founding in 1849, its designation on the National Register of Historic Places, ongoing preservation efforts, educational programming, and its role as one of Easton's most significant green spaces and historical landmarks.
The visit highlighted the cemetery's commitment to preserving local history while serving today's community through guided tours, volunteer opportunities, educational programs for Easton Area School District students, and recent environmental improvements supported by grants for tree restoration and landscape preservation.
Membership Growth Continues
Easton Rotary is also pleased to announce two prospective new members whose applications have been approved by the Membership Committee and Board of Directors:
Eric D. Lee - Attorney, Litigation (Sponsor: Audra Frank)
Kristin M. Frampton - Nonprofit Community Engagement (Sponsor: Lynn Schoof)
These candidates represent the diverse professional and community leadership that strengthens Rotary's mission of service above self. Written objections, if any, should be submitted to Secretary Melissa Flores within ten days of the published notice.
Boo Bingo Fundraiser Planning Underway
Excitement is building for Easton Rotary's upcoming Boo Bingo Fundraiser. The club is actively seeking member support to secure prizes, sponsorships, and raffle basket donations, with proceeds benefiting Easton Rotary's Youth Services projects. Members interested in joining the committee or helping identify sponsors and prize donors are encouraged to contact Jean McGill. This signature fundraising event promises to support meaningful programs that impact local youth throughout our community.
Celebrating a Rotarian's Achievement
The club also extends congratulations to Lynn M. Schoof, who has been recognized as a recipient of the Lehigh Valley Business Forty Under 40 Class of 2026 award. The distinction honors emerging leaders who are making significant contributions throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Members and guests are invited to gather under the striped awning area for an evening of fellowship and conversation. Families are welcome, and children can enjoy a special foam party beginning at 6:00 p.m. Weather permitting, we'll be outdoors, with indoor seating available if needed.

District Governor Visit Set for September 24
One of the most important meetings of the Rotary year is quickly approaching.

Rotarians are collecting supplies to assemble 20 Birthday Kits for local families served by ProJeCt of Easton.

Members are encouraged to contribute items or make a monetary donation to help ensure every kit brings joy to a child celebrating a birthday.

One of our most anticipated fundraisers is back!

Tickets are now on sale, and sponsorship opportunities remain available. The committee is currently collecting:

Lottery tickets
New designer handbags
In addition, themed baskets valued at approximately $50 are needed for the Tricky Tray/Basket Raffle.
Phillipsburg Rotary Golf Outing
The Phillipsburg Rotary Club's 9th Annual Golf Outing will take place on September 18. Additional foursomes and sponsors are still being accepted. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a neighboring Rotary club while enjoying a great day on the course.
