For more than a century, the Rotary Club of Easton has been driven by a simple yet powerful mission: service above self. As we celebrate 111 years of service (1915–2026), this edition of The Rotary Felloe highlights the people, programs, and moments that continue to shape our impact across the Greater Easton community.
A Focus on Peace and Youth Engagement
This week, Rotary turns its attention to peace-building and youth engagement, reminding us that sustainable communities are built through compassion, education, and opportunity. From supporting student leadership to promoting mental health awareness, Easton Rotary continues to invest where it matters most—our youth.
One recent program featured Easton area high school students, showcasing their achievements, leadership, and service. These moments reinforce Rotary’s belief that empowering the next generation is central to creating a peaceful and prosperous future.
Students of the Month: Celebrating Excellence
A highlight of the season is our Students of the Month program, recognizing outstanding seniors from Wilson High School. Each honoree received a certificate, a $400 scholarship award, and a commemorative nameplate displayed at their school—symbols of Rotary’s commitment to academic excellence and community service.
Honorees Include:
Kiera Hartzell-Ham (May) – A multi-sport athlete, coach, and National Honor Society member planning to study architecture at the University of Maryland.
Jillian Horinko (June) – President of the Buddies Club, Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, and future law student at Slippery Rock University.
Emily Murgia (July) – Captain of the swim team, musician, and dedicated volunteer pursuing nursing at DeSales University.
Jeffrey Sunderlin (August) – Class President, state-level athlete, choir member, and aspiring STEM student headed to Wesleyan University.
These students exemplify leadership, resilience, and service—the values Rotary proudly champions.
Fellowship, Joy, and “Happy Things”
Rotary is also about connection and fellowship. Recent meetings were filled with “Happy Things,” as members shared personal milestones, community events, athletic accomplishments, and family celebrations—from birthdays and fencing tournaments to wine galas and camping adventures.
These moments of joy strengthen the bonds that make Rotary not just an organization, but a family.
Giving Back Through Fundraisers and Community Events
Easton Rotary remains active in regional fundraising efforts. Upcoming charity golf outings support organizations like:
The Children’s Home of Easton
Boys & Girls Club of Easton
Miracle League of Northampton County
In addition, our Single Barrel Select Jack Daniel’s fundraiser is well underway, with a significant portion already sold. These efforts directly support scholarships, nonprofit partnerships, and community programs throughout Northampton County.
