Our program featured Dana Cardona and Richard Sywensky, who gave us some insight into their professional life in the world of real estate. Rich grew up in our local area and now is a Senior Loan Officer for a home mortgage company. Dana grew up in New York before moving to Coopersburg eleven years ago.
The past decade has seen many changes in the Lehigh Valley market. Unlike many areas of the country, we are still in a sellers market in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Large parts of the United States have already seen a housing correction. Even the counties directly north of us are currently better for buyers. Buyers in the Poconos are often looking for Airbnbs, rentals, or second home s. There is hope that the market will begin to adjust by the end of the year. Commercial real estate has bounced back after COVID and restaurants are opening again. There are many buyers waiting on the sidelines for interest rates to fall. High priced apartments are selling in downtown Easton. Many young people find apartment life to be more attractive even though they pass up the opportunity to start building long-term equity.
