STUDENTS OF THE MONTH AWARDS

Our program featured the popular Students of the Month Awards. Four students from the Career Institute of Technology received certificates and a
$400 check to celebrate their outstanding achievements at school. The winners also received a nameplate to be displayed in the lobby of their school. Chair Gayle Rogers introduced the following High School Students: September: Jayla Quezada -Easton High: Jayla is already taking computer science and networking courses at Northampton Community College. She works in a retail store and has served as an in-home Childcare Specialist. She hopes to study forensic science in college and have a career navigating crime scenes.
October: Cooper Lamas - Easton High: Cooper is a Junior at CIT and
studying Building Construction Technology. He is Captain of the Swim Team and is a District 11 champion and state qualifier. He is a lifeguard at Palmer Pool and also works in landscaping. He volunteers with Special Olympics and with St. Luke's Hospital. He is in the National Honor Society and competes in SkillsUSA.
November: Penelope Alestas - Easton High:Penelope is a high honors student with certifications from the American Heart Institute, OSHA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. She volunteers at Miller Keystone Blood Bank and Abington Manor. She is an intern at Lehigh Valley Health Network and competes in SkillsUSA. She plans to attend Moravian University and have a career as a pediatrician.
December: Lillyvette Hierro - Easton High:Lillyvette is in the Cosmetology program at CIT and she is certified in CPR for adults and children. She competes in SkillsUSA at the District level. She was on the hair and makeup team for the High School musical. She babysits, house cleans, and is employed at Redner’s. She hopes to attend College for Business or open a Cosmetology School.
